To keep raw fish fresh in the freezer, dip it in ice water with a twist of lemon juice then pat dry before storing. The juice acts as a preservative and helps get rid of fishy odours. - Tan Siew Eng / Bedok Reservoir Road

If you find that your packet of coffee beans or powder has lost its aroma, try putting the entire pack in the freezer for a few days. You'll notice the coffee is more fragrant when you make your next cup. - Amylia Koh / Petir Road

Silver tarnishes easily, so after a party, place several strips of aluminium foil in a big bowl. Place silver cutlery in the bowl and pour boiling water over. Add three tablespoons of baking soda and soak the cutlery in the water for at least 10 minutes. This will bring back the lustre of the silver. - Daisy / Gillman Heights
